also, in regards to the "i hate fighting the same monsters over again" thing, i'm sure you already know this, but you do have the ability to map travel. also, if it is a particularly long quest, just leave your computer running (if it's an option) and come back later if you need a break.

don't end up like that dude in korea or japan (forget where it was) who played starcraft for 52 hours straight and died at his computer from stress lol.
Didnt the first person who got r9 died of excitement? And he was a White man?I forget his name...

QFT! It's already midnight, and I am 50 pages from the end of a great book, no way in hell I am going to sleep. It's a wonderful thing

This reads like you're playing Prophecies. That first campaign has, by far, the largest map. There are quite a few areas in Prophecies that aren't easily accessible (close with avoidable and/or easy fights) from an outpost. I remember the secondary quest chains out in those mines my first time through the game - they did seem to take FOREVER, and I did them all at once rather than fight my way back out there through all those pesky dwarves.

Most of the primary storyline quests and missions have more frequent "good stopping places." Some of the secondary quest lines will run really long though.

To me, Prophecies' felt like the map was designed first and they wrote some quests to fit in it later. The later campaigns felt the opposite, as if the maps were designed to fit the storyline. Of couse, of all the campaigns, I still love Prophecies the best - the feeling that a map was designed to fit a storyline tends to kill the fun of replays for me.

Most everyone has stayed up too late doing something they liked. Set an alarm clock to keep you in check if it becomes a problem. Your post reads like you enjoy the game so far (like most folks on this forum.) So, yes, it has the potential to absorb your attention for long periods of time. Now the question becomes when you let it do so.

Cheers

just remember one thing, the game isn't going anywhere, lol, coming from a game addict, but this is what I've been telling myself, the game isn't going anywhere and my health will.

Especially playing guild wars, since you will be return to the nearest outpost and not where your character park last, so I tend to want to complete everthing and not want to waste the time i'd already spend clearing the former half, thats why 007 and lag is so frustrating, also use the wiki if you must, plan before hand. or else you'll get to the end of a mission and find you can't complete it, waste of time, and repeats. and wrist pain...

I had that feeling to when I was in the southern Shiverpeaks, good times.
Anywho, like posted previously, keep an alarm clock near you, and watch the the hour timers that pop-up, if your timer runs out in the middle of a mission, just set it 5-10 mins further so that you dont forget to stop once you completed the mission.

Funny how that's also the bad thing about sex (and it goes both ways!).
